We invite all families, new and returning, to our Open House in August. 

After Open House, we ask that all forms are promptly returned to school. This ensures that we are able to arrange transportation, have accurate contact information, and assist your child in being their best this year. 

During the school year, you will receive communications directly from our school. Emergency communications, such as notification of school closure due to inclement weather, will be delivered via mass notifications using SMS text and email. Phone calls may also be made to notify families. 

Therefore, it is important that you let the front office know of any changes to your contact information. Changes can also be made in your OnCourse Connect account. 

Teachers will use ClassDojo to communicate directly with families.

A sign-up code will be shared with you via email and at Open House. This platform allows families and teachers to stay in consistent communication about assignments and events happening in class. 

The school calendar is updated regularly and is located under the "About Us" tab on this site. 

You can subscribe to the school calendar to have events populate your iCal or Google Calendar. Follow this how-to guide for subscribing to the calendar.

Thanks to a partnership with with either Trinity Health, we have a school-based health clinic that can treat your child during the school day. 

Release forms for this clinic can be accessed on our website. 

In compliance with current government HIPPA regulations, medications are to be stored and logged with an RPSB school nurse. Please contact administration to get more information if your child needs to take medications at school or has a condition that requires monitoring or attention. 

Our dress code is designed to create a positive and respectful learning environment for all students. By following the dress code, we ensure that our schools remain focused on learning and free from distractions. We encourage students and families to review the dress code together to understand expectations and support a welcoming school culture.

Each teacher will provide students with a list of required supplies for their individual classes during Open House and again on the first day of school. Students and families are encouraged to review these requirements carefully to ensure students are prepared for a successful school year.

Carpool Procedures

To ensure the safety of all students, families, and staff, please follow the designated carpool procedures for student drop-off and dismissal.

Morning Drop-Off

Parents are asked to drop students off in front of the school after buses have unloaded. For the safety of our students and staff, parents should not enter the teacher parking lot or stop to drop students off in this area. This creates a safety concern and disrupts the flow of traffic for faculty and staff arriving on campus.

Afternoon Pick-Up

During dismissal, parents and guardians picking up students by car should line up on the cafeteria side of the building in the designated carpool area.

Parents are asked to remain in the designated carpool line and wait until the first load of buses has been loaded and has exited campus before proceeding to the front of the school. Once the buses have cleared, parents may pull around to the front entrance to pick up their student.

For the safety of our students, students will not be permitted to walk to the faculty parking lot for pick-up. All car riders must be picked up through the designated carpool area.

Family Expectations 

Parents and guardians can assist Transportation by: 

• Having student(s) at the stop 10 minutes early and waiting no less than 10 minutes past expected bus arrival time. Not attempting to board the bus for any reason. Only students are allowed on the bus. 
• Arranging for conferences with your bus operator through the school, Transportation Department or directly with the operator. Please do not attempt to have a conversation at the bus stop as this presents a safety hazard. Not sending food items other than the student's lunchbox on the bus with your student. 
• Immediately notifying the school with changes in primary residence address. 

Procedure for Permanent Change of Bus Stop/Ridership 

Students are only picked up and dropped off at the primary residence listed in RPSB’s student information system. To change their address, families are to contact their student’s school and provide the required documentation. Once this process is complete, the student(s) may be assigned to a new bus and bus stop. 

Procedure for Request of Temporary Change of Bus Stop/Ridership 

Requests must be made in writing and sent to the Transportation Department. Requests must include: name of student/parent, contact phone number, school attending, current address, current bus operator, temporary address/location, name of person(s) responsible at temporary address & contact number and reason for request. All requests will be considered on a case by case basis. There is no guarantee of approval. 

Rapides Parish Public Schools is pleased to announce that all enrolled students will receive free breakfast and lunch every school day during the 2026-2027 academic year through the district's participation in the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP).

Parents and guardians are not required to complete meal benefit applications for their children.

Students are also welcome to pack their lunches. Please observe any food allergy rules specified by the school to ensure safety for everyone.
