ART I
Art I is an introductory course that explores various artistic media and subject matter in a studio environment. Students will develop self-direction in their art-making processes while gaining foundational skills in both art production and criticism. This course encourages creativity, experimentation, and an appreciation for the artistic process.
ART II, III, IV
Building upon the principles learned in Art I, this full-year course allows students to refine their artistic techniques and creativity. Emphasizing the Elements of Art and Principles of Design, students will work on projects that focus on drawing, painting, and sculpture. Art III and IV students will be expected to apply their advanced artistic knowledge to complete projects with a higher level of skill, conceptual depth, and personal expression.
CHOIR
The Rapides High Choral Program is a well-rounded and inclusive program that enriches all who participate. With a focus on developing a diverse and high-quality repertoire, students engage in songs they love while refining their musical skills. The program emphasizes musicality, music theory application, and vocal development in a supportive and encouraging environment. More than just a choir, this program creates a safe space where students can enjoy singing, build confidence, and express themselves creatively. Through performances and collaboration, students experience the joy of making music together while growing as both musicians and individuals.
